By definition, synergy is the combination of two items working together so that the outcome is greater than the sum of the individuals. Team Sinergy is just that, the outcome of all of us will be greater than the combined individual efforts.

Patrice SkullyI did my first race is 2011 and fell in love with the OCR world. I enjoy being out on the course and how good it makes me feel. When I am out there I realize just how much I am capable of doing. I have 2 young daughters so when I race I think about them and want to show them what I can do when I am racing.

Jennefer Paquette Eaton,Started this OCR journey with a spontaneous trip to Shale Hill in the spring of 2012. I was quickly hooked. From there it was a Tough Mudder, Spartan Beast in Killington, Sunny Hill, couple Spartan Sprints, and Shale Hill. Mixed in there were numerous 5ks, 10ks – road and trail - one half-marathon, and last winter, The Frigus, my first Snowshoe race. The list, times and finishes are not yet impressive but my dedication to growth and progress is 110%.

Amy RiceAmy is new to the OCR circuit, popping her cherry at the 2013 Mountain Mucker Race, a race she attended primarily to hear the band that was playing at the post-race party. Prior to this, the majority of time was spent manifesting her fertility, in her occupation as a dietitian, and racing triathlons and running races. Amy enjoys the mental and physical challenge of OCR, the bruises, and the opportunity to taunt the opposite gender during a race that they are getting passed by a mom.

Kaleb LaRockIt was 2011 I was just starting High school when my father said that someone was building an obstacle course just down the road from where we live. I went out on the Shale Hill course and had a lot of fun - ever since then I have volunteered at countless races and helped build some of the obstacles. I now do guided runs on the course.
The Sport of obstacle racing has become an addiction that is hard to control. |

Eric RhoadesI am a busy father of two young boys and Senior Vice President of IT at Cooperative Insurance Companies. I grew up in Maine playing soccer at an early age and eventually for Husson University. After college the sedimentary life style got the best of me and before I knew it, I was 220lbs. Eventually I lost 50 lbs and signed up for my first OCR race in 2012. I was introduced to Rob Butler at the first Benson Bear race and have been training with Synergy obstacle equipment and at Shale Hill obstacle course ever since. The training staff and Rob himself have helped give me the training and motivation to compete at a higher level than I thought was possible. I am very excited to represent Team Sinergy at the ORC World Championship Race this fall.

Barbara BassA mother of a wonderful creative 10 year old boy and wife to an amazing husband and art teacher, This 41 old native New Englander who grew up on farms would naturally gravitated to gymnastic and swimming.
After 14 years of competitive gymnastic and swimming she fell in love with x-country running, triathlons, marathons, and a deep passion for ultras. In just nine short months she had completed 9 races and qualified twice for OCR world championships. “I’ve come a long way in nine months and I’m just getting starting!” |
Vincent LarochelleA smoker for 15 years, I had a big downhill mountain Bike crash 4 years ago that brought me into a dark period. After 3 years without sport, I tried the SGX program to get back to sports. It was the first time I had run in my life - just 2 years ago, and my competitive mindset with myself took me to a level that i had never imagine I could hope to be. So now I'm on it at 100 % I have trained and pushed myself a lot this year. What i love the most in OCR is the camaraderie and atmosphere, respect between athletes! I don't believe I've hit my full potential yet ...

Heather MossI've been racing since 2012 though I've been "addicted" to the fitness world since my freshman year in college (1995) when I took a weight training class. I was hooked! I have found a varied fitness routine including weight training and cardio best to prepare me for my newest "addiction", OCR. I strive to be better today than yesterday and better still tomorrow.
Team Sinergy is not just a racing team, we are family. |
Jonathan StanizziI began this journey towards OCR having been inspired by my older sister Erin. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and was determined overcome and make it a positive change in her life. She beat cancer and then went on to train for and run the ING Hartford Half Marathon. Her determination and perseverance inspired me to start training and participating in a number of races in the following months. I was hooked and went looking for the next challenge. I am looking forward to continuing this adventure as a member of Team Sinergy in 2015 and beyond. I am humbled by the opportunity to be part of this incredible group of athletes in the growing world of obstacle racing and I am excited about the future of our team.

Mike NataleI ran my first OCR at the end of 2013 and was instantly hooked, currently have completed 54 races to date. The rush of doing things you never thought yourself capable of doing or would do is exhilarating. My favorite part of OCR is running a lap or two in open heats after running competitive heats, that's where you find the heart of this sport. Seeing the look on someone's face when they accomplish something as simple as getting over a wall, which to them could be a lifestyle altering feat, is absolutely amazing. Team Sinergy embodies everything I love about this sport and represents itself with class and humility. I'm honored to be a part of something special.

Melissa BerkeI am a 25 year old ACSM CPT and SGX coach that has found passion in competitive OCR. I entered the world of OCR with the same dedication and intensity I acquired from my past in Diving. Marshall BreiteAfter several years of competing in Mt. Bike and Adventure Races, I transitioned into Ultra Trail Races and Endurance Races such as "The Death Race" and "The Suck". Most recently, I have been focusing on OCR's and I first met Robstacle Butler when I competed at the 2014 OCRWC.
What an incredible honor it is to be a part of Team Sinergy: A team filled with amazing athletes and even more amazing people - and of course created and spearheaded by Rob and Jill Butler! At 62, I hope to continue racing for as long as my body allows. |
Nate BrownDuring the late months of 2011 I awoke from a many year slumber and realized I needed to get busy living before the opportunity slipped away. The focal point of my new path was my first OCR, the 2012 Tough Mudder at Mt Snow. I finished it, I could barely walk afterward…and I couldn’t stop smiling! From that moment my passion for the sport blossomed to include numerous races every year, an addiction to CrossFit, and a desire to pursue ultra-distance running.
